All,

Achieved first light with my new Astronomik H alpha filter. The Eta Carinae nebula. I was surprised at what is visible given that the object in deep in the city skyglow.

Yes, that's the plan - to cover more of the nebula. Such an amazing object.

Amazing.. I suppose the next step is to add colour as well?

Would be ideal, but doubt I can get enough colour signal through the skyglow, unless I use an OIII filter for the green - but what would I use for blue?

You can take a normal colour shot with only the LPR filter and then combine with the HA layer..

That's what I mean - that the LPR will not be aggressive enough to cut out the skyglow - may be worth trying, but first I want to image more of the nebula.
