Hi guys, decided to post this topic after read an article on newspaper about 3G technology on hp. Just like to ask old astromony timers how do they contact each other for ob session back in d early 80s-90s where e-mail, internet, pager hardly exist, n where hp cost is = to a tak telescope. Given with currently communication tech, a phone call away, an internet posting is so much faster. like to hear from u guys man! thanks alot.

I think they communicate using smoke signals... yah... no wait, they use pigeons... homing types. Or is it that they shout? hmz...

smoke signals are a no-no....will cloud the sky...heh..
I guess what they did was meet up at a fixed time each week, eg, every friday night. if sky is not clear, they go home and watch "Man In The Net" or go to the nearby coffee shop (the type where the coffee is served in singlets, slippers and clogs, not by pretty ladies wearing "coffee bean" name tags ) and talk about Quah Kim Song and Dollar Kassim...
