From a value-for-money viewpoint, the Minolta Activa will do nicely at less than $200. However, you need to indicate what is your budget, If its around $100, than the Minolta Classic would be more appropriate. Check out the details of these binos on their website.
Don't forget our vendors. I know Sam stocks some >= 70mm aperture binos. these will cost you and require a tripod for easier viewing.

for a start, grab a pair of 50mm binos. they usually come in 7x, 10x or higher magnification. i would recommend something ard 10x.

the minolta activa are pretty good for their price. u can also try samuel for the antares binos.

Haha, I would recommend 10x50 binos from Carrefour - $35.

Not joking, they are actually quite good, for that price. You pay more for better coatings that's all.

hi septimus,
as I mentioned in my PM reply to you, you can try finding it at Alan Photo in SLS, Alan Photo at Peninsula or try Lucky Plaza. That's where me and CC got ours. Early last year, Blurblock managed to buy one too... perhaps you can PM him, assuming he's still lurking here...
