Looking for personal descriptions of observations!

Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.

Looking for personal descriptions of observations!

Post by chrisyeo »

Hi!

I'm looking for some personal accounts of observation experiences, such as watching the Geminids or Perseids last year.

Perhaps if you had a really nice experience doing some astro observing, why not write out one paragraph of what happened to share!

Clear skies,

I was in Penang last year on the 15th of December. The skyglow was apparent from the city centre; with Orion and Canis Major all being shrouded in the light pollution despite clear blue skies. Out of the blue, a bright fireball of about magnitude 3 or more shot across the sky- the first meteor I had ever seen. My wish? The eradication of light pollution in Singapore :)

Sorry, the fireball was magnitude -3. I do keep a log of my observations, but am too lazy to start a web log. :)
