WTB: 8"-9" OD, 40" Long Aluminum Tube [BOUGHT

Post by ariefm71 »

After lurking everywhere, I still can not find the source of 8" aluminum tube in Singapore! it's for my 7" Raycraft mirror.

Buying a raw tube from US will cost me $$$ ($250 shipped to SG to be exact). So anyone with 8" f/5 scopes (orion, skywatcher, celestron) that want to convert the scope to truss dob, pls sell the tube to me.

Anyone that knows where to buy such tube pls pls pls inform me...

thanks,
Arief

PS: PVC is out of question, fiberglass will be considered, carbon fiber tube will be too expensive for me but will consider.

Arief:

Do you consider a sonotube? It is light-weighted but robust.

Have you tried Joe O'Neil?

Somewhere near the bottom are some irrigation tubes up to 10" diameter. I don't think it is PVC as it comes powder-coated as an option.
