NGC7293: Helix Nebula, Eye of God, Eye of Sauron

Post by cytan299 »

Hi everyone,
Singapore is so very wet in September and October (and all the other months :) ). I was able to take 5 hours 25 min of NGC7293 Helix Nebula, or Eye of God, or Eye of Sauron over 2 nights: 22 Sep 2024 and 03 Oct 2024. I did this by ignoring the Singapore weather forecasts which are ridiculously inaccurate. Below are the final results after processing. This image was taken with my FSQ106 + NBZ filter. NGC7293 is a very nice easy target in Singapore but can be quite challenging in the Northern Hemisphere at 40 deg N or more because it's very low in the sky. I'm happy that I finally bagged it :) Again, clearly, another 5 hours would have made it better, but it's good enough for now. On to the next target when the skies become clear again.
