You'll have lots of heat driven air currents from the concrete - any evacuation fans to equalise temperature?

All lights in the vicinity of the Dome can be controlled. Basically the scope is catered for the family; parents & children and most operation will be
simple & basic and 'Visual' view either via the Binoviewer or the TV Monitor will be the priority. Full astro-imaging is catered for but guessed won't be used much by the general viewers.

Hot & humid temperature is a killer in Singapore.
The terrace will be laid with homogeneous tile. The dome will sit on it
own base platform also with tile for minimum heat absorption. Dome will also be fully insulated internally and externally with special heat & UV epoxy paint. There will be a de-humidifier running 24 hrs and air-con is also provided. Hope's these will help reduce internal heat current & humidity.

Any others which I may have left out ?

Normally some people buy condoes to sell later at a profit. so if the permanent 14" scope really entices you, you can wait till after the launch when some units will be made available again.

Sounds as if you guys have a real research instrument available if you play your cards right! I am sure that you could negotiate to use it after the families have gone to bed, if you could convince the powers that be that you have a real project to carry out. Sling a CCD on the back and do some time series photometry on dwarf novae.

Go well!

Doubt so.
Basically for the typical residents 'visual' use and not hardcore although some options are built into it. Some residents with deep interest in Astro might make sure of them.

Sorry, should be only standard; i.e
- b&w video imaging
- color plantary imaging
- deep sky CCD imaging

no st.

The dome is good looking. Is it made of fiber glass or wood?
