Post by PETER LOO »

Yesterday evening sg sky was opened. Captured M31 with TS-65/420mm scope, Canon 550D cam. Shooting data: ISO 400, 60s X 111. Calibrated, registered and stacked in Siril, performed Histogram transformation, color calibration (photometric), noise reduction and background extraction.

Yah, cytan San, i'm still trying to figure out how to use the Siril's generalised hyperbolic stretch to produce the s curve shape, a bit confused.

Can't stretch too far it seems, the core is getting too bright, also data acquisition time is very insufficient (less than 2 hours) partly due to mount meridian flip. n.b. forgot to mentioned 2" Orion skyglow filter has been used.

Nice. Dust lanes can be clearly seen.
