Hi,
This is one of the pics I took in Mersing. Been busy. Will post more when I get more time.
Did some filtering to remove noise and curve adjustment to bring out more details. 15 sec iso 400 exposure using a canon ixus.
Pic is of the southern sky. Trail of lights on the left are of an aircraft.
Clear skies,
Chris

Wow great pic that brings back fond memories! The southern cross and eta c. is nice! Miss taking those beaten-down charter vans to Mersing and the fun company.
Its frequently cloudy back home but at least we get to see so many southern jewels. Here in N.America, the comparative lack of spectacular DSOs is becoming increasingly apparent after each observing night. Pity observers here in the US who have to make do with calling M13 as their most "awesome" glob cluster heheh

Too bad the clouds moved in after I started taking the series of shots for the star trails with my digital camera...

Last pic to share from Mersing..
Last pic to share from Mersing.. Scorpius in its full glory with saggitarius on the lower left. Noisy but tried to bring out a hint of the Milky Way. Only a 15 sec exposure on a Canon ixus. ISO 400.
