Tuas Ob site

Post by David Lian »

Take bus 192 or 193 to Tuas Bus Terminal.
Take bus 182 to Tuas South Ave 9.
It will travels along Tuas West Dr then turn into minor road (what name???) and proceed to Tuas South Ave 3.
You can also see two chimmels of the power station on your right at the distance.
As it passes the Tuas Incinerator station the bus loop left and proceed further down the road.(This are is also very dark for western sky but yet to explore)
It passes through junction Tuas Ave 5.(Another good site down the road but prepare for some lighting from workers quarter plus inquisitic passerby)
Prepare to alight at bus stop B25 (Multi Co factory)near junction of Tuas South Ave 7.Walk across the road toward southern section of Tuas Ave 7 toward darker area pass through road junction Tuas South Ave 10. (Distance from bus stop at least 75m)
Walk 50~100m toward end of road which street light are not operational yet.(the further the best and you experience the stars popping out as you walk toward the darker area)
This is the site with southern sky for your picking.

If you drive it is not difficult to find.
First you drive toward 2nd link by AYE.
Turn left at Tuas West Rd (Tiger Brewery)
Drive striaght to Tuas South Ave 3.(Pass Tuas Incineration Plant 1st site on your left)
At junction.(Landmark "Ryder" building diagonally opposite)
,turn left into Tuas South Ave 4.

Turn right at the next major junction into Tuas South Ave 5.This is four lanes on both side of the road.It is like runway.
If want you may test your car limit if there is no TP around.

Again turn left after 2.5Km at Tuas South Ave 3.(United Paper Pulp/Cyclect building) or go striaght to end of Tuas South Ave 5 ob site.

At junction of Tuas South Ave 7 (Multi Co fty) turn right into plastic barrier entrance.Remove them and drive through to end at Tuas South Ave 10.Park the vehicle at the concrete barrier.Walk across junction toward the darker end of the road. You have reach Nirvana of ob site.

Wow.. now I finally know I it is! BTW, this plot of land used to be known as 'hockey stick' in SAF lingo. I used to camp there for field exercises while it's till barren land. Anyone else remember that?
