Help needed for Solar Observation this Sat 8am to 4pm

Post by Lee »

Hi,

I'm looking for 1-2 helpers who are free this Saturday to help setup & mend a Solar Observation station for a primary school fund raising.

Location:
Elias Primary School @ Pasir Ris
Time: 8am to 4pm

Setup:
Kendrick Observation Tent
Meade 7" for White Light Sun Observation
Coronado 40mm PST for HA Sun Observation
Meade 12" for Saturn, Venus, Mercury if weather permit

In addition, I also wanted to loan a set of any Binoviewer & eyepiece pair for the event (will pay S$25 for this) Anyone ?

A nominal sum for transport & meal will be given.

Interested guys can contact me at HP: 96192273 or email leewk@starhub.net.sg

I think you are probably trying to say "man" as in manning (look after) the scope rather than "mend" as in repairing the white light filter.

Are you really expecting your helpers to stand out there under the sun for 8 hours?

wah... this 12" really need help to setup. i remember the last time i help wee kiong insert the central bolt for this 12" at the german school... really took some time.

maybe i can mount my megrez80 (with whitelight filter for the sun) on the sphinx to goto and track venus... much easier to setup.

The event will end at around 1pm or earlier.
Helpers are to ensure audience do not accidently look at the Sun Unprotected; especially for the kids.

[glow=red]S$ 0.50 for a Peep (1 min)[/glow]

We will be viewing in the tent attached.

Thanks Ric Low for volunteering & David Lian for the bino.
