Hi,
I am also looking for a C8 tube cover (over the corrector plate) to replace my original celestron tube cover. Anyone who has one to sell, please let me know.
Alternatively, I am trying to improvise using any other metal or plastic covers that may fit. Anyone who have any brilliant or crazy ideas, please share your thoughts here.
Thank you.
Richard

Richard, if you find one, can let me know? I may need it also for my DIY solar filter. Else I will just get the Thousand Oaks one.
Cheers!

Hi guys, thanks for the ideas, will check out the hard cardboard containers and frisbee and let you know. my only concern is whether the cardboard type will be easily damaged.
i think the ideal type would be a thick metal cover to fit over the DIY solar filter. any wild ideas for metal ones, please contribute and post as tachyon, kayheem and i are on the look out for C8 covers.

Hi
I have found a suitable C8 cover! It is a matt textured black ABS plastic cover which I added a thin strip of rubber for a snug fit. It has an attractive look and finish, and best of all, an attractive price - only $2!!! Find it at Daiso in IMM 3rd level, under the japanese 'lacquered' tray section.
Perhaps one could cut a hole for the solar filter, though I have some reservations whether the plastic may deform under the hot sun condition.
