Woo hoo!!! Been watching the counter too. Its been almost two years since our webpage is launched after a long and somewhat turbulent gestation period. We have certainly come a long way since those pre-historic Yahoo Groups days!
As to the occasional bear markets, that must be due to our hardworking administrator Yong Quan (nF) weeding out inactive accounts from time to time.

We do it in the dark...
Portaball 12.5"
Takahashi Mewlon 210
William Optics 110ED
...and all night long!
Another gauge of our popularity: a Google search for "Singapore Astronomy" until the recent months turns up the TASOS website as the first hit. Now its, u guess it, Singastro! =P

Yup, I think that is a better gauge to Singastro's popularity than the number of members. I think we are also getting a few members from Malaysia, which is great. Perhaps these members can help us scout around for good sites in Johor.
I'm from the Philippines... when i go back i want to bring my telescope along hehe.. or when i go to jersey.. they have good dark nites there.. and in our backyard too!
actually we had a higher membership than this but due to removal of inactive accounts sometimes, we drop back to a lower no. at least we know the current members here do come in on a regular basis!
welcome to all new members...seems we are getting very Asean-ny...heh heh
glad to know there are people in our region who have the same passion as us!

If we get more members from other ASEAN countries, we may need to rename this forum as SEA-Astro! BTW, I actually tried to do a google (web, not just Sg pages) search and Singastro indeed came up tops.
The brief on TASOS listed 'more than 200 members'. :-k-yeah: :-k-yeah:

the count finally hit 400!!!! Congratulation!!!!
For hobby of such nature,it is amazing to get such numbers of members.
I personally have met & known at least 40~50 active members face to face in ob sessions or social gathering like lelong sales.
For those run and managed this forum, keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!
