Batu Layar Trip (6th August): Registration FULL

Hi all,
Thanks for the overwhelming response for the above mentioned trip. Unfortunately the site is quite small and limited to a number of stargazers at any one time. I will try to organize another one real soon! watch out!
Thanks and for those who have received my acknowledgement, will certainly look forward to meeting you guys at the event!

Yes... i would also like to know how was the trip? I would have like to go but I had 'overnight' in-camp training on saturday at Paya Lebar Air Base. The sky there was cloudy at around 9pm on saturday but clear the next morning at 6am.

Not a full report, but some pictures first:

Total of 48 people went. The largest expedition yet. Set off from the new Changi jetty to Johor and then a cab from there to Desaru. The campsite:

Sky was clear in the evening but clouds moved in just after sunset. Thankfully the sky cleared about an hour plus later. The sky was good with only some light pollution in the south and some streetlamps further down the road...

hmm. I've reached some kind of 2mb maximum for uploaded data.. looks like no more photos from me..

Maybe other would like to fill in the details?

hi chris
ask yong quan to increase your limit as mods get a little more space.
to conserve, make sure all your images are about 50K or less..
looking forward to your follow up obs report!
might interesting that you have a dob in a traditional newtonian config..
seems it can't make up its mind to be a dob or not! :-)

Anyway, a dob is a newtonian on a fork mount without tripod... hee hee
