Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

My 'new' setup

Post by acc »

TV Pronto on Panoramic mount with Meade 24mm UWA. The ep is as wide as the OTA! Great for rich-field views :)

Can be considered a 'loaner' setup from Astromart as everything except the ep & Starbeam finder will be placed back on sale at Astromart & Singastro before I leave the US for home. :)

cheers

The TV85 is portable but its tripod is not! :) So decided to grab the pronto setup when it came up on Astromart at an irresistible price and the seller happens to be living less than an hour's drive away.

But to be frank the scope is better to look at than to look through...

After a very long bout of cloudy nights, the sky miraclously remained clear tonight. So took the entire scope + tripod from my room out to the backyard in a single trip for a quickie. Ready in 60 seconds :) My, the scope is a winner on open clusters, showing pinpoint stars and a wide FOV for a very pleasing effect. M6/M7 and the double cluster so was beautiful and refined. And even with just 70mm of aperture, the moon was fantastic through the binoviewer! Alas the summer coastal fog blew in within 30 minutes of me stepping out. Arrgh!

Hi,
After a very long bout of cloudy nights, the sky miraclously remained clear tonight.
Same here in Singapore... my scope haven't see any star light for the past two weeks... cloudy... cloudy night :( :(
So took the entire scope + tripod from my room out to the backyard in a single trip for a quickie. Ready in 60 seconds
Going to get a UA Mircostar Alt-Az Mount for my 6" Newtonian from Joo Beng when he is back next week... then my Newtonian will become my grab-n-go scope :D :D

Have a nice day.

Ha Ha Ha... got your hint... :P

Anyway, my Newtonian is also very portable if use on MicroStar Alt-Az Mount and I'm looking for a scope that give a wider field than my F5 Newtonian scope. So, not consider a C8 at the moment.

Have a nice day.

So what scope are you considering?
