Does anyone know who Ng Koon Guan is?
Anyway, his personal webpages on Observing the Night Sky in Singapore were my first introductions to visual astronomy many years ago when I first started surfing the web for info (even before I found singastro!).
He has a very detailed and passionate account about star gazing from his front yard garden., and a section on what is up in Singapore sky right now. He also has some images. What I really like is that he is very modest about what we can actually see in Singapore, but yet he is able to express the truth that in that little bit there is so much to be appreciated.
I think people who are absolutely new to visual astronomy in Singapore should find it really enjoyable and informative. It gives just about the right level of expectation but yet infuses it with passion.
What do the rest think?

TWL is one of the masters in planetary imaging. I think he's a tasos-ian :-)
not sure if I met him during joint tasos-singastro obs at mersing a couple of months back.

I knew Wei Leong personally, my f/6.3 focal reducer was bought from him. Even seen through his C11 before. Me and him knew each other way way back even before we have singastro forum.chrisyeo wrote:Mr Tan Wei Leong is one of the management committee member of TASOS, the Astronomical Society of Singapore. I don't know him personally. Sadly, the people from Singastro and TASOS do not seem to acknowledge one another. *shrug*

I also know all those "politics" behind the scene. Let's just say that certain things turned sour and it has been like that since. Unfortunately not even the passion of astronomy can patch back those things.
Anyway, just enjoy your astronomy.
