Orion Stratus 17mm is a winner!

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

It has a 2" skirt for convenience. In reality its a 1.25" ep and there is no vignetting since the available focal lengths and 68deg FOV is within the 'capacity' of 1.25" barrels.

Rather busy so I had a quickie 10min session with the 17mm stratus on my XT10 @ F4.7 The eyepiece held up very well despite the fast f ratio; stars were tight and sharp up to 70% of the FOV. Beyond that, a little coma starts to creep in but only become more slightly pronounced at the last 90%; and its not so bad as to be objectionable. Even Al's Naglers show coma at F5...

On the moon, images were sharp to the edge. I couldnt find fault with the eyepiece.

This is definitely the best value for money ep I have ever seen.
