AstroPhysics Waiting list?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

AstroPhysics Waiting list?

Post by Tachyon »

Just wondering if anyone here is on the AstroPhysics waiting list for any AP scopes?

Cheers!

Not the scopes but the mounts :
I got on the 900 and 1200 lists in July 2004 ... another year or two to wait , enough time to save the $$$

AP waiting list for scopes date back as follows :
-Traveler : mid June 1999
-130 EDFS : mid Sep 1999
-160 EDF (formerly 155 EDFS) : mid Nov 1999

I got on the list for the 130 EDFS in May 2000 so hopefully will get it in the next run. If you got on earlier than 1999 it sounds like you've been somehow dropped.

Gee.. wouldn't it make economic sense to speed up their production? I mean somehow somewhere someone is gonna give up waiting and move on to a readily available scope yah?..

maybe hard to believe, but roland doesn't make money from selling scopes.

selling mounts already sustain his company. the only diff between ap and others is that he figures and polishes his lenses, not just designing them and subcon to lzos (e.g. tmb). still, i would rather buy a toa-130 or tmb-130 than waiting for ap-130, unless i don't have the cash now and can use the waiting time to save up :)
