Oh no! .. quite a bit of astronomical misinformation! .. thank goodness at least that there wasn't any major errors - almost thought that I read that Mars will be closer this time than 2003!

Just for the record: :)
1. Mars is not going to "make an appearance" tomorrow night, it's been visible and will be visible for many more months before "disappearing" behind the sun.

2. I never said, and am not, the president of anything. I'm only the main organiser of this event. :) Remus is one of the original founders of Singastro as a yahoogroups. Vincent, Chee Chien, Wei Cong and Yong Quan are the founders of this forum.

3. It is not the second time that Mars will come into opposition. It does so every two years.

4. Mars will be a "blazing red beacon" in the night sky, but in the telescope, it will be a "beautiful red planet". :)

5. Technically, this event is organised by the astronomy clubs of RP, SP and Singastro, but not by RP or SP themselves.

If you go BBC weather web site, for our tiny red dot island, you have three choice of location. City,Changi & Jurong.
The forecast for city is good for Sat nite.(Hopefully it is true.)
But if you look at Jurong, it is raining for whole week end.
