for an achromatic refractors, issit better to get a colour filter like your's or a VR filter? or they serve different puroposes in removign false colour?
Colour filters work as in a way to enhance certain wavelengths of colours and to block out others, so as to achieve a better contrast for features. Doesnt help much removing false colour. A VR filter can work some wonders, but dun expect much.

The 2 filters you mentioned are designed for different purposes.
These colour filters above are "planetary filters" and are usually used to enhance certain observable features on some planets (e.g Mars, Jupiter, Saturn), making them stand out with slightly higher contrast. They do not work the same way as VR / MV filters.

some people find the colours on a short FL achromat irritating but if it does not bother you, there is no requirement to the VR (or MV-1) filter. These filter basically removes the purple tinge but in the process also cut off a little bit of light. Your image also get a yellowish tinge...
Depending on the design and number of lenses, colour may be minimal even for an achromat such as the Pronto.,
