First Observation...

Post by ovc17m »

After getting my 1st ever telescope, comprising of WX's 6" newtonian coupled with a EQ3-2, I give it a shot at the sky last Thursday.

Probably the curse is true (though it's not a new scope), the sky was badly overcast! Stayed for about an hr before I gave up & packed up.

Anyway, had my 2nd self ob. on Saturday nite again near Chinese Garden area. This time, I'm able to find Orion Nebula and Pleiades with a friend of mine! The sky was very for about half an hour. But couldn't do much ob with only one EP with me for now. Anyway, the freaking mosquitoes are feeding on us... argh.

Once I got a few other EPs, I'll be back... Haha..

hehehe congrats on your new purchase. got the same setup as you at about the same time last year. Got to enjoy the winter skies immediately. Alot to see and explore around the constellations like auriga, orion and monoceres and stuff. Enjoy the generally clear skies during the last month of the year (usually quite clear very often during this time)!
