Pentax J60

Post by AGMI »

I know pentax telescopes are known for it's good quality but how do the vintages perform? i found a vintage pentax j60 60mm f/11.7 refractor on ebay and seems that it's gonna be going cheap. anyone can comment on made in japan vintage 60mms other than they are mostly of good optical quality?

anyway heres the link:

ps: On ebay there were LOTS of decent scopes [meade, celestron and stuff ]there was a white tube meade ETX with uncoated corrector and a meade 8" f/10 SCT with a gold coated primary mirror for IR photography
too! lastly there was a vintage 50mm guidescope on a "nice unitron type twin adjustable mounting rings", also made in japan

i will avoid ebay if possible (unless it's the local ebay where you can meet up with the seller), accounts hijacking is very common there

the rating of the guy seems ok. its not fool proof but at some point, if you want to swim, you have to go into the water.
but what irks me is this statement :

"What a great present this would make for the holidays for a begining Astrologer!"

I did not know a telescope can tell your fortune...I think I will stick to birds picking up cards instead!
