Found dark observing site in Bedok North
Hi all,
This is a nice place that I currently use for observing near my home. It is actually the 7th level of a multistorey carpark. Levels 1-6 are carparks, but 7th is some kind of decorative concrete I guess. They normally switch off the lights on level 7 around 8pm.
The carpark is located near to the Long John Silvers and Shop and Save building. It is also near a coffeeshop as well. This location is near to the Bedok MRT, estimated around 10 mins walk. The darkness of the site is not too bad, as the HDB flats are not directly surrounding it. For those who have studied in Temasek JC and joined the astro club, I will say the darkness here matches that of the TJC rooftop and maybe even better. The view of the sky is quite unobstructed too =).
I have posted some pics below for reference. If you have any doubts on getting to the place, please feel free to PM me or contact me by

The skies are unobstructured down to 30 deg in most directions. Pretty good! Thanks Jun Wei for sharing with us the place!
Cheers!
Cheers!

Hi,
Fizzy123: Yes there are lights on level 7, but it was only since recently that I noticed they started to switch off the lights after 8pm. I suppose they find it a waste of electricity to keep it turned on.
Im not sure of other carparks, but for most carparks, if the top level is really meant for parking cars, then I suppose they will leave the lights on in case of theft. For 215A, it is not meant for parking cars, so im not too sure what was their original intention for it. Maybe it was meant for rollerblading? From my kitchen window, I am able to look across over to this carpark, anyway I dont notice anyone up there in the daytime.
By the way, an interesting thing happened last saturday when I showed Tachyon the site. There was a guy who was totally naked running away from us when we opened the door (after he put on his clothes). Tachyon guessed that he was sunbathing up there...haha...
Best regards,
Junwei
