Hi Robin,

I don't know why I didn't notice this post earlier....

but YES! I am interested to join in, to share your scope (and mine too!) and learn from you, etc.

You have my contact, so please sms me if you are going to ob, etc.

Seems real quiet here...whats wrong with e west ah? Always so quiet!!!
Anyway, just previous fri had an last min ob w berkamp at this area which is quite dark in CCK and went for late night supper after that. Its location was posted b4:

http://www.singastro.org/viewtopic.php?t=2292

The exact location was actually inside the training area. Not to worry, the area is still not used but the military yet but one must cycle to easily access the place. Surprisingly no mozzies.. May have 1 - 2.

Just wanna call out to interested people staying in bukit batok, jurong and CCK, bt panjang WHO CYCLES(can walk in but would take 8-10 mins) to join in and have fun! There will be some equipment available( c5, 5in mct ). Anyone interested can PM me or msg at 97960540.

Might not be active for now cos of sch. Will have to wait for may for term to end.

Hi, actually, the training area is being used by the SPF for driving instruction and Security Command ops training but only in the day although they do have Class 3A ops training there on certain nights too so you might wanna be careful.
Just make sure no one sees you there with scopes. :) But then again, we astronomers like to find dark places we're not supposed to be - I do too ... so ... hee hee ...

The area where rlow described would be much safer. :)

OK then..point noted! i'll exercise caution, thanks for the note! Anyway, call still out, for the daring! :D

PS. Its really hard to find such places which are real dark and yet of proximity to the estates!

We use a bag to carry the scope and the eps. The camera tripod could be easily sling by the back. You can also transport the tripod by attaching a bicycle rack and using the bicycle hook. Then we are all ready to go!!! (c8 w the mount might be a little bit hard...) actually its ok if you just bring the megrez(we can share the tripod). We would be glad to share our stuff too. Just bring any eps(stratus vixen or whatever..) you have cos ours are *ahemahem*... :D

Anybody interested?? Then we can form The North-West Mobile Observer group!! Maybe we can cycle around to famous 24hr eateries for late night supper too! :D :D
