Lunar Mosaic (first light mosaic using Toucam Pro II unmod)

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Lunar Mosaic (first light mosaic using Toucam Pro II unmod)

Post by rcj »

Hi all,
This is my first light lunar mosaic using the popular Toucam Pro II 840K web-camera via a 3-inch refractor. Each sub frames were taken individually stacked from respective AVIs via IRIS and then stacked in Registax3. High haze during image capture.
1/250seconds
10fps
zero gain.

Having lots of fun with the various capture mediums lately!
But can be equally confusing as image processing is quite different for the various imaging mediums. Film processing personally is still the hardest especially removal of vignetting effects noise removal (at multiple stages)

Remus,

Very well done. It appears like a single high resolution shot to me. Can't find any "stitching" defect.

Very high detail too considering the small telescope used.

Regards,
CK

i have reprocessed this lunar image again to bring out a greater tonal range in order to enhance the darker maria regions.
