Tak EM10 latitude adjustment

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Tak EM10 latitude adjustment

Post by ariefm71 »

Always want to ask this, what tripod/pier adapter required to make EM10 or P2Z workable in our latitude? any pics?

I can only go down to 20 degree on my previous EM10.

Arief:

They recommend a wedge for low latitude. You can see an example from
http://www.astro-physics.com/index.htm? ... 00upgrades

But I think it is difficult when doing drift alignment.

Coming back into this. Looks like we can simply disassemble the head from the base and rotate it in the other direction (see pic).

My question is, does this require hard modification (drillings, etc) or simply unscrew the head, change the direction, and screw back? also, i'm assuming the motor is still set to North, not South :-)

Maybe SP astronomers can answer?

from what i understand, an additional drilling was needed after 180 degree mounthead rotation, to insert the bolt to vary the altitude adjustment. it can be done. sorry for the long delay in this post, but just noticed this thread. ;P
