LOMO Telescope

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Have a nice day.

Hi
I did talked about this brand sometime back, I think inside yahoogroups.
They do make very nice scopes and the finder within the OTA assembly is a nice touch. I nearly bought one Mak 70mm from Kay Heem but Chung Hooi beat me to it 8-)
Anyhow, I understand the bigger ones like the 102 are very heavy (by my standards) and require equally heavy tripods to be of use...
Does McGill carry this range? They do have a selection of Russian scopes although I have yet to see them appearing on Singastro...

This MN has the same CO as a MC  :( :(
Sacrificing the small CO (a hallmark of MN) just to fit a built-in finder is not a very smart idea I would say, might as well get an MC, much more portable.

So I can put here also my expirience with this LOMO MN 102. I had it and it is trueth the obstruction because of this very smart finder is bigger as usual for MNs. But the obstruction doesn´t matter by taking photographies and for this is this Mak-Newton optimated. Its small focal length and small weight, doesn´t need a strong mount to work with. And here is the finder a very smart idea because to take optimal position of a object.
So there is a difference to work with this MN by watching stars or to take images.
