WTS: ABANDONING TAKAHASHI REFRACTOR(S)!

Post by rcj »

Hi all,
It's appalling, but it's true! Abandoning a prestine conditioned Takahashi FC76 3-inch refractor to a good and appreciative owner!
This fella will come with an original Takahashi tube clamp ring (the tightening knob looks real shiny!), original Takahshi 6x30 finderscope and bracket.
A note on the condition:
The focusing knobs are nice and clean and matt-silver and no sign of aging. The OTA tube itself has very few scratches. I can only see probably a few thin ones on the dew shield, and one on the tube where the tube ring is normally placed. The finder bracket is nice too, the 6x30 finder is sharp and sweet, with the usual paint chips at the place where the finder screws make contact. The finder itself can be focused to your liking. The visual adapter is the compression ring type original but note it is 0.965", and comes with a visual extender which is necessary for straight through viewing. The dew shield is painted "FLUORITE" in blue and white.
>>$1950

To those who'd wondered what is happening, read on:
Would have certainly keep this fella but my dream scope is coming in April and it is not encouraged by space constraints to keep everything. The Sky 90 is gone BTW (thanks to a few who expressed interest in it), and this would have to go. I am planning to let go the 75SDHF, but it has been through with me thick and thin through expeditions and several imaging sessions, moreover cosmetically it is average at this point in time. The 4-inch Pentax might have to go too, and I have already placed in on astromart earlier. Did not post here since I may not have expected anyone here is interested in this astrograph, but if there's someone out there that is, just visit the website. You will see it there if you don wait too long to access it. Enough of my ramblings...guess I am just too excited now, can't wait for the dream scope to arrive...
Counting down...
