Anyone owns a 12" or larger DOB?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

since siaheng has a private rooftop, just build a simple sliding-roof permanent observatory la. no need to disassemble the scope after use.

That's what I suggested to him last time, but his kids wanna play there ... :)
Siah Heng, just put a slide on one side of your observatory and maybe a see saw on the other side, can also include a mini rock wall for when they get older ... HAHA ... Best of both worlds ... :)

Better tell the maid to leave the mirror alone. If she wipe it with window cleaner, that's it for the mirror.

It's a rumour, but probably true, they say Roland Christen uses his saliva to remove stains that can't be touched any other way. ("I spit on your objective!")

Hi,
Hmm... Is this a real one??

If yes, just wonder how they going to observe?? Are they going to fly up to observe or to use a crane?? And wonder how they going to track the object while observing?? May be shouting to the people below: "Counter Clockwise a bit!! Up a bit!!" :P :P :P

Anyway, I think using such a large dob in the dark should be one of the most hazardous activity in the Astronomy!!

Have a nice day.
