Do you use Registax or other software?

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Hi,
Weixing (and otehrs), how do you compare Registax and Iris?
For planetary/lunar/solar image processing, both Registax and Iris can be used, but Registax is easier to learn and to use compare to Iris. I haven't got time to try out Iris for planetary image processing... I'm just too lazy. :P

For non-planetary/lunar/solar image processing, Iris will be better. IMHO, Registax is specifically design for planetary/lunar/solar image processing only... especially for image output by webcam. Also, Registax can't handle a lot of large files very well which is common for non-planetary/lunar/solar astro image.

Have a nice day.

Ha ha ha... as what I mentioned, I'm a lazy person... So I basically use only the standard and basic function... didn't actually go and explore the other function... Anyway, if got any question, just post the question in the forum lor... those Registax expert will sure able to answer your question and may be I also can learn from their answer... ha ha ha :) :P :P

Have a nice day.
