Recommend a small portable GOTO scope

Thought of getting a small GOTO scope so that I can carry out to observe at a moments notice, OTA, tripod and all at one go.

Was thinking of the Meade ETX 80AT. Anyone has any experiences on this scope? Or anyone looking to sell one used at a reasonable price?

Long time no see and no hear from you!

I would say forget the 80mm refractor. Get the EXT90 with GOTO or the C5 goto.

Just my 2 cts. Are you still staying at Tampines?

You're still actively pursuing astronomy and active in this forum!

I have stop watching the skies for many years and now yearn to
start again, I just wan a low cost scope to haul up to the rooftop
for observing, dun wish to spend too much. Mostly for planetary
obervation for friends and family, nothing fancy until finance permit.

I'm staying near Sims drive now.

Hi,

If you are thinking more of planetary observation, you should look at the MCT which is easier to reach high mag, unlike a short achro refractor.

Look through the Buy and Sell for the good deals!

astrobargains has some goto scopes below $900, for the short achro I'm counting on my still surviving 3x barlow. was wondering how the meade LNT works though.
