Arrival date at Compton (Fedex tracking): 10 May 2006 (12:12pm)
Shipment Alert email from Vpost: 16 May 2006 (9:59 am)

Total days: 6 days.

I have another package coming through, and will monitor it again.
Ok, this is the update on the second package:

Arrival date at Compton (Fedex tracking): 16 May 2006 (12:02pm)
Shipment Alert email from Vpost: 17 May 2006 (11:16pm)

Total days: 1 day!

Conclusion: Highly variable processing time between the time the article arrives at the US processing center and until it is matched and billed. Range is between 1 to 6 days (or more).

That's why u see.....damn inconsistent. Like as if it is a one-man operation in US (or maybe it is)

Anyway for my case, today I call again and they say they accidentally left the package in US while delivering my other 3 packages. I was like wtf. Even if left behind also cannot be no one in US bother about it during the last 3 weeks after paying for the delivery what. I mean wouldn't someone be curious about this package sitting in some corner for the last 3 weeks?

Actually I don't really mind about the "accidentaly left behind" because people make mistakes from time to time, but it is very disturbing to know that they didn't do anything about it after they "left it behind"

Is there someone we can write to or something we can do to make them wake up their idea?
I think it's cos they're the only "consumer" company doing this service and LOTS of pple are using them without other alternatives that's why they think they can take it easy.
If DHL or FEDEX started something similar, things would be much much different ....

Consolidated shipment.

Post by David Lian »

Based on shipment mode for my company logistics, there are two modes for air-freight.
Consolidated shipment or immediate air courier.

For immediate air courier, the goods pick on same day and out of Europe asap.By two days we can get our stuff (useful for urgent repair usually paid by customers).

For consolidated shipment, the goods are sent to holding area and wait till end of week or two(weekly or bi-weekly or monthly) before they despatch. It is so much cheaper. (by at least 3~5 folds against courier service.)
Sometime if the shipment is not full, the forwarder may not even ship at designated time and wait until it is full.(Minimium shipment weight)
For America they probably wait for all parcels from all corners to consolidated in one location before shipment.Trucking or by train can take a week or two to reach that location. (SORI, Other countries are much bigger than 45KM by 25KM)

Based on the above, whether you are unlucky or not depending your goods may be in too early for them to ship or just in time.

 My 2 cents worth of information.
So pray the next time you engage them that your last package in.

I think it's not so much about when they deliver or whether they're waiting for more packages to arrive.
The problem is the accountability as to where our packages are and what is happening to them. Most of the time, the answers I get (I think VinSnr and quite a few too) are that they either are not sure yet or cannot confirm if they have received an item. Even when they have confirmed receipt, half the time they cannot tell their customers what is happening.
Even when I use the CHEAPEST fedex ground service, they tell me when the package has been reveived, left the place, arrived at another place and then at another .... and even though it takes awhile to arrive, I have peace of mind knowing FedEx is taking care of my stuff.
I'm not expecting Vpost to do the same, but at least tell me that my parcel is in US now, then it has arrived in Singapore and will be delivered tmr or 3 days later or something. Now when I call, I either get "Not Sure" or "Arrived in Spore but dunnoe where and dunnoe when will reach you" ..

I just picked up my mount today from SingPost building after much headache trying to get my package .... Oh well .... I still have another shipment of books from S&T clearance coming ... :)
Like I said, we don't have much choice, that's why we have to go back to them ... :)
