Voyager II detects odd shape of the Solar System's edge

Post by Airconvent »

Have always been fascinated by the 2 voyager probes....they are what I call extreme return on investment. for a probe designed to last 4-5 years, they really out lasted way beyond that...

the light from andromeda can reach us, so what say you of the voyager. actually the 2 voyagers and pioneers are ONLY a light hours away from earth... not even weeks!
they are still receiving signals from these probes and NASA routinely uses them to calibrate their instruments.
many of the onboard instruments are actually still working and the nuclear reactor is still producing a healthy level of radiation. unfortunately, the thermocouple used to extract electrical power has degraded and the probe only has sufficient power to run one instrument. you can't blame them since they were designed for a 6 year mission but has lasted 29 years!

yeah i agreed with Airconvent that voyager is a amazing space probe. i actually heard that our home pc's processor actually has a much higher processing power than the 1 running on voyager. anyway where will voyager travel to??? into d unknown regions of the space?
