World Cup 2006 in Germany

Post by HoO_Germany »

Actually is the World Cup 2006 started and the first games are done. We had no kind of conflicts with no kind of national and international fans. The weather is very very good (actually 28°) and so much sun makes our souls happy, each game is an event. Unfortunately I don´t have any WC card, but I saw until today all games on tv.
Why I´m living not straight to a citiy the games are, I didn´t saw any foreign fans but I know in Cologne (wich is a Game City) and in other cities there are a lot of football partyes, where is a lot of fun.
We in Germany want to show all the world what hospitalbe we are and not only me but a lot of people I know are happy to distribute the World Cup 2006 :)

Hi Robert,
It is a sin to live in the host country of THE world cup and not go and see it...    Think of the poor people here who have to pay for $$$ to see the games live on cable and at unearthly hours (when they should be obbing instead of sitting on the sofa!). Its like having a bright supernova in the sky and staying home to sleep!
anyway, congrats on Germany holding the games...you're gonna have lots of fun..may the proceedings be peaceful whether any team wins or lose...

Hi Rich

I agree about the sin, why to host the World Cup is not every year. But unfortunately it was more than impossible to get cards. Even the rest of the world had more chances to get one, as us germans. The most of the available cards were for the VIP´s and Sport managers, other for the companies who make the sponsoring and a small rest werde for unpayable prices, where you should try per internet toget one. But I see the most games on tv and have also a lot of fun.

Much people was angry why we could not buy the cards and Mr Beckenbauer told us, we shall ring somebody to Africa or other countryes and ask them for their cards to get in (silly idea).

Hi,
Much people was angry why we could not buy the cards
One simple reason: It's more fun and better to earn other country money... ha ha ha :P :P :P Germany had spend so much money to organize the World Cup, so it not surprise that they want as many soccer fan as possible from other country to come and watch the World Cup... ha ha ha

By the way Robert, you can alway go and watch the RoboCup 2006 (Robotic World Cup) from 14 Jun 2006 to 20 Jun 2006 in Bremen, Germany: http://www.robocup2006.org/

From simulation league, small size league, middle size league, four-legged league and humaniod league... it should be quite fun also... :) :) :)

Have a nice day.

Robert,

So far, your country did well. The football pitches are beautiful. I saw the short trailer on the cities and they are very nice. I am thinking of going to germany soon!

Hi Weixing

I prefer to look the real games, but I can imagine the robo-cup is also very very interesting, to see how robots can play football. It sin´t easy to learn them to stay, but to go or to play is a amazing ingeneer knowledge :) .
About the cards, maybe this is the reason why we had no chance to get ones, but one thing is right, as the foreign football fans are here and have a really good time.

yes, the cities in Germany are full of history and they are beautiful. There are some not so nice cities, but the most are very interesting.
When do you think to come to Germany?

hi Robert. its great to hear u reporting from Germany. i heard many things about your country. i heard u guys even have beer drinking festival there!!!!!! anyway i'm quite impress with the world cup stadium. very impressive. but i've rather poor knowledge of the current German squad coz i seldom watch BUNDESLIGA matches. only know a few player like Ballack and Klose. the german squad has change quite alot recently. i kinda miss the euro 96 squad. players like Bierhoff, klinsmman, lothar Matthaus, moller realli capture my imagation. anyway i predict a repeat of 2002 world cup final this time round. Brazil vs Germany.

Hi Jingguo

well, in Germany are not only Beer-drinking festivals :P :D , but you´re right, here are a lot of difference beers, where all on their own kind are very very good  .
Me is also not a big Bundesliga fan, because I watch football seldom too, but such games as World Cup (no matter where they start) are very interesting. The actual Player like Ballack, Podolski, Klose, Lahm, Lehmann, Kahn, Odonko, Asamoah and all other, are well play stars, the 96 Team is gone 8-) . Klinsmann is Coach of this WC team and Matthaeus is also Coach I think in Ungaria, but I don´t know deffinite.
Maybe it will be again the game Brazil vs Germany, but this time shall be another winner....lol, ha ha ha. I hope we will World Champion.
