How about a JUM-Party?

Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.

great event, I give my support too! There is open field behind Yio Chu Kang MRT but I do not reccommend it because nearby AMK area is very bright.

The field on top of Orchard MRT is actually quite dark.

Has anyone tried Marina South lately?

What about Chinese Garden, Bukit Gombak or Khatib MRTs? Does anyone one know of a good spot near them?

The Orchard MRT field actually sounds quite attractive.
We do it in the dark...

Would it be hard to find parking or to move around the scope with so many people around?

Hi, I am interested in this plan...
there is an open field outside the woodlands MRT and beside, no need scare no pp, you have causeway point shopping centre and civil centre!
Furthermore the night polllution is not worst but consider bad yet jupiter appears bright! My club would be interested in co-hosting this event with you guys!!

Cheers!

Orchard sounds like a great idea, attracts alot of people, esp jupiter and moon so easy to see, even a bright area can do. But would we need to apply to the police for attracting a big crowd? If that's no problem, I'm interested to help.

Provided I CAN actually book out of camp, of course... sigh.

Need very dark, accessible place with enough carpark...

hmm... No idea..

But I think Sentosa is very dark. Been there till late night before. But I guess it's not really that accessible yet? Otherwise we can have a beach cum star party...

Klutz, if it's strictly only JuM party, those objects can be pointed at even under severe light pollution conditions. Even my 5" can see decent views, as far as i can remember. So i think such a party ought to be at more popular places to attract more people, instead of be at darker sites?

My 2c.
