Hi all,

I am currently using StarHub's Digital Voice (DV) in my home. I was previously using SingTel's land lines with extension sockets in each room.

Does anyone know how to route DV's output signal throughout the existing phone wiring in my home so that I can plug a normal phone into any existing phone plug to use it?

I am not keen to use a wireless phone as there is enough EMR around the house already :-(

You mean all your other extension sockets are connect in parallel, right?? I mean you actually only had one telephone number and one main phone socket that all other extension sockets are connected to this main socket, right??

Is the phone use by the digital voice a normal analog phone??

Yup, all the sockets are connected in parallel, linked to 1 number.

The phone I am using with DV is a normal analog phone plugged into a CEVM (cable-enabled voice modem).

Is the end of the parallel link connect to the main socket internally or externally... I mean is all the extension that are connected in parrallel goes to a single phone plug which you plug in to the main socket??

If yes, have you try just plug this main plug to the CEVM??

I am not sure if the parallel link connects internally or externally. I do not know how the contractor did it. When I open the circuit box of the house, I only see little switches but no plugs. How else can I tell?

Hmm... is your main telescope socket located in the circuit box?? Normally, the main telephone socket is located in the living room and all extension that are either connected internally or extenally go to that main telephone socket.

It is easy to find if it is connected externally: look at all your telephone socket in your house, is there any telephone socket that got a telephone line plug into it that is not connected to a telephone?? If there is a telephone at the main telephone socket, there will be a telephone line splitter that plug into your main telephone socket with two telescope line connected to it... one for telephone and one for the extension.

If it is connected internally, I guess you have to open up the telephone socket to check.

Err... it's telephone socket, not telescope socket... thanks river for pointing out... :oops: :oops: I was having trouble typing the word "telephone"... everytime I type the word "telephone", it keep turn out "telescope"... I wonder why (Astronomy Syndrome???)??? May be I should clear my "brain memory cache"... ha ha ha
