Which Goto?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

A good price is usually about US$800 for SS2K PC. In Japan, you can even get used SS2K and GPD for US$800.

Goto is good, because singapore sky too polluted, cannot locate stars by visual sight.

Hi,
Goto is good, because singapore sky too polluted, cannot locate stars by visual sight.
Human GOTO is even better... No power required, super high speed slewing, auto eyepiece selection, accept voice command and even teach you where and how to look in the eyepiece... right, rlow?? ha ha ha :P :P :P

Have a nice day.

Everyone also want to buy ss2000. You all also can consider Vixen Sphinx too....it is a very good alternative.

I fully agree with WX. Don't forget that human goto has a database of knowledge of the objects like brightness, angular diameter etc. Also, this human goto can plan the observation session.. no need to think of what objects to find! :)

i will stand by the SS2K as well. Even over the Sphinx. Good GOTO technology, and mature.

Being a human GOTO since i started this hobby, I think it's really rewarding even though it could get really frustrating.
I'd say it's better and more convenient to have GOTO system for astrophotography since you dont have to swap back and forth between imaging train and eyepiece(s).
