was at ntuc resort this evening and noticed that apart from some clouds appearing and disappearing, the sky was relatively clear with M45 and M42 clearly visible. On the east, I see Saturn and on the west, Mars is on her way down. I hope those who are not working tomorrow did not waste tonight!

sigh. last night was frustrating.. went down at 1 am and after i was all set up, thin hazy cloudy came all over the sky.. left at about 2 am after taking peeks at saturn, jupiter and M42 and M45..
oh and a word of warning for any one going out to observe, now with the reainy season here i think the mosquito population has jumped.. might be a good idea to bring a small can of off with you to ward them away.. wish i had one with me last night..

Yesterday was one of the best days here in Paris.. the skies were dark and clear.. Not a single trace of cloud.. I was cursing myself for not bringing my telescope.. I could just manage to bring my zoom bino this time.. Still the views of Saturn were excellent.. Also managed to get some great views of Jupiter after 1AM.. I could never get such a good viewing from Singapore..
clear skies

you may be looking at a star cos Jupiter only rises at 0040hrs and and at 1am, will still be too close to the horizon for any real view....

Hi Rich..
I am currently in Paris for a short project... The skies here were wonderfully clear for the past few days.. and since it is very cold people switch off lights and sleep early (I think so).. Thats why after 11 in the night, you can get a very good viewing.. I beleive I never had such good viewing sessions in Singapore for last 6 months or so.. I will be returning to Singapore for a week during christmas.. Do you need anything from Paris ;-)... I will try and get my scope this time..
Yesterday night, Jupiter was up and bright (again after 1AM) and I had a wonderful view of the Jupiter.. Could spot all the 4 moons even with my 70mm zoom bino.. I wish I could have brought my scope.. :-(
clear skies soon..
