i believe some of u had receive an email saying tt there will be 2 'moons' on 27 Aug. This is for an info for those who did not receive:
Dear all,
FYI, don't miss out the greatest opportunity.
Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It
will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will
cultimate
on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to
watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2
moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Share this
with ur friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.
As from what i know, the distance of mars to earth is about 2.57 AU on 27 Aug and the mag is only about 2.15
so i hav been wondering tt is it a hoax?
2 moons on 27 Aug?

after 2005 and 2006 mars watch, that email never die but reach more people!! Got friend sms me about it, friends and family member asking about it when they see me... all about Aug 27.
ok, it you cant beat them, JOIN them.
how about annual mars watch on 27 AUG (or around that date) and we invite public to the event and let them see the real stuff?? Let the email do publicity for us.
One day, when you see your non-astro friends telling other friends that email is hoax, we have done our part.

Hi,

Have a nice day.
That's should be a good idea... but the problem is that how are you going to have a Mars Watch when you can't see Mars?? Mars will set at around 20:20, so it'll be too low to observe even you start it early...ok, it you cant beat them, JOIN them.
