Has Anyone Recce Bishan Park?

Post by Clifford60 »

Has anyone recce Bishan Park (pic deleted)? Look like a very big field surrounded by trees and a few HDB blocks.

I live in one of the blocks near those in the pict. The vacant place is really vacant but highly used by people for games. dark, with lamp posts all along paths etc. Lots of potholes, and extremely muddy when after rain. Do need to be very careful.

I did obs before in the right corner, but the light from lamp posts were always in the way.

yes , there are many lamp post in the bishan park. Try the open space and hill behind Singtel Store at the other end of bishan park. Wear proper shoe, the grass is a little long if compare to the park.

I have never been there after midnight. The light is on before that.

Is your son a sharp shooter? Hand him a slingshot. ;)

Hi,
[off topic]
That's an advance slingshot... The slingshot I used during my childhood was made of "Y" shape tree branches.... :P :P Hmm... why need to wear goggles?? Will this type of slingshot "backfire"??

Have a nice day.

No idea why goggles were used. Maybe freak accidents do happen, even with slingshots.

I've got a feeling that most of us here have pretty good night vision. So lamp posts are quite a nuisance. ;)

Yup that is advance slingshot. Is it legal in Singapore? Air guns are illegal. Also, once there was a neighbour (about 100m) away from my house and he was using slingshot (the unmodern Y shape..perhaps explain his inaccuracy) to shoot crows. He missed and the marble flew 100m and broke my house window. I was in that room and the window had a bullet kind of hole. It is a dangerous thing. So.. if he miss the lampost, it WILL break somebody's window or somebody if it unluckily hits him/her.
