i use the 410 geared head. i use it to mount the skywatcher mak127.
When i bought the scope there was a box coming with it, and with some mat acquired from backpacking shops i can line the whole box such that the scope sits nicely in it, and there's further mat cushions outside of the box, the whole of which i put into a big travel bag. That way, even if i accidentally drop the whole bag, there are at least erm, 5 levels of cushions for the scopes to sit on.
The accesories are just dumped in the box, and there's also a thirsty hippo which i change every month to keep the inside of the box dry (not that much humidity reaches it in the first place, given the number of mats.. lol. And the bag is big enough that i can put an A4 size file of a star atlas in, together with my binos if i bring them out.
I like the 410 head most, the slow-motion controls are great! My tripod also has a bag, so when i go for ob trips i just sling my tripod back across my chest, and hold the scope bag. or if i find that too tiring, i can also change "pose" and sling both bags across a shoulder each.
