Here is a deliberate saturated imaged of the Moon, just to reveal the subtle colours of the Lunar surfaces. They may not be a true representation of the real surface colours, but is really fun to bring out more details.

Nice picture. Probably better than some pictures taken by non amatuer. The good equipment plays a big role here. 8-)

Hmm.. not sure if they are the subtle colors of the moon or just artifacts from the CCD?
[80% Steve, 20% Alfred] ------- Probability of Clear Skies = (Age of newest equipment in days) / [(Number of observers) * (Total Aperture of all telescopes present in mm)]

could be artifacts, but it's really interesting. Check this one out to compare the color compositions. The reddish/brownish part is quite similiar.
