Not very specific. Depends on for what purpose. For visual - my favourite is Alt-Az. For astrophotography, GEM. How to vote?

I am interested to know what are the other altazimuth mounts. :lol:

Tachyon, we have to sacrifice sometimes, isn't it?

Kim Miau, not really, I think most ( or some) people just have 2 mounts. one GEM for astrophotograhy or high power planetary viewing and one Alt Az for visual.

I'm tempted to answer your question about other Alt Az mounts but I wouldn't wanna risk going off topic ... Maybe start another thread? :)

I thought this is topic related? I see. Many folks here are rich. :)

That's right.

My favourite mount:
for bino, it is a ball-head alt-az,
for grab-n-go C5, it is a pan-head alt-az;
for grab-n-go Mewlon 210, it is the Astroslew alt-az;
for planetary viewing with Mewlon, it is the GEM;
for a 15" mirror, it got to be a dobsonian mount.

Can I tick three options? :)

Yes you may. Is it possible to allow multi votes?
