I think around 20/11/06 around 8pm, I was looking towards S, SE
direction at about 20-30 degrees altitude. From a single point of
light, it suddenly flared up for about 2 secs before it finally
extinguished.
may need to check heavensabove.com but likely its an iridium flare. .
You're lucky..I have not seen one before except on a video courtesy of our resident iridium expert, Chia YK....

Recently they are burning off some released gases at the petroleum refinery offshore. Perhaps you should observe and see if it happens again.
