Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.
Yesterday seem to be exceptional clear skies! I took my binoculars (20x 50) down my block at Jurong West around 12:15pm. I can see the the constellation of Orion in all its glory, I started by observing the major stars like Betelguese and Rigel followed by Sirius. The "belt" was also clearly seen. I tried moving to the sword of orion and capture M42 and M43 and there it was a faint cloudy glow!
Hopefully there will be better nights ahead in december....
Hi,
Yap... Yesterday night was very clear (excellent transparency, but seeing not so good) in Tampines... I realised it when I looked out from the kitchen's window after mid-night and saw M41 using naked eye with averted vision... must mention that the kitchen light was on... that's how clear the sky was yesterday night.
Anyway, tonight was also not bad... too bad it a weekdays...
Have a nice day.

Tuesday night was also clear too. The seeing was very good. I managed to observe from in my house (not a ideal location because of the street lights) for 4h! I ended at 1am and slept at 2am.. so was rather sleepy at work. Observed all open clusters of <=10 magnitude in Perseus. The double cluster looked splendid on the big scope. I also saw a galaxy in Perseus but could not make out much detail except that it has a bright elongated core; I found out that going higher magnification (220x, 1.4mm exit pupil) will make the galaxy stand out better as higher contrast and reduction of skyglow. Next observation I will try to observe more galaxies instead of star clusters but I need to go to somewhere dark. It shows that to observe DSO in Singapore, Less than 2mm exit pupil is ideal so that the contrast will be higher.
Also, I looked at Orion Nebula and really looked great with lots of details and was dark green in colour with the OIII filter. Seeing 6 stars in Trapezium is very easy without filter. Lastly went over to look at globulars and there was a real nice one NG1851 (mag 7 diameter 11'). I observed it with my 5m BO/TMB eyepiece at 300X and the stars were resolved as tiny points.
