power supply for nexstar 6SE

according to the specs listed, the nexstar 6SE accepts 12V, 750mA input from an AC adaptor.

another way of powering it would be with a battery pack like the celestron powertank. however, i thought that it would be a bit expensive so i just bought a lead-acid battery, 12V 7Ah one.

can i just connect it directly to the scope (with those little 2.1 mm ID, 5.5 mm OD plugs)?

Yes you can. Just make sure that the centre pin is positive.

hmm..so you mean i do not need to put a 16ohm resistor in the power supply circuit from the batt to the scope to ensure a 0.750 mA current?

If you want to play safe, can always connect a fuse of suitable value in series.

i just use a 12v laptop ac/dc supply from smlim tower. costs about 30-40 bucks.
