Newbie question about constellations

Hi guys... sorry for the very noobish question :oops:

can we see southern constellations here in singapore or in the northern hemisphere closer to the equator(philippines for example)? im trying to find the answer on the web but i cant seem to find it. for example, can we see libra or scorpius sometime during the year? thanks

Hi,
Singapore is very near equator, so we can see most of the constellation in both northern and southern hemisphere... except those constellation at the extreme north and extreme south, which we'll have difficulty to see it due to very near the horizon, light pollution and obstruction.

Hi Mandaragit, no problems! The beginners forums is where you can ask all these questions!

Yes, we can see Scorpius and Libra. You can try downloading a planeterium software like Stellarium, click on Singapore as the location, and see what stars are visible on the equator.

or if you are rich enough, you can buy starry night pro... you can basically everything that is above you... you can also connect it to your telescope if it support...
