Fisheye lenses for astrophotography

Post by alvinsclee »

Hi,
This is interesting...

I've got the Peleng 8mm. I'm looking for the Zenitar 16mm too. These old lenses from Russia/Ukraine are wonderful ultra-wide lenses, albeit manual. Here is another link to read more about these lenses...

Someday I will try these lenses for whole-sky photography :)

Alvin,

I have got the Zenitar 16 (Canon mount) if you want to try it. Can pass it to you when you want to try out the Narrowband (Orion).

Cheers

Hey WeeHan, thanks :) I am looking to buy a good M42 version of the Zenitar 16mm, so that I can try it on my Pentax K100D. I have a Sigma 16mm fisheye, yet to try...

These days the clouds are giving us lots of disappointment... don't think I will be able to catch that comet in a whole-sky shot (which was what I planned to do for an unusual perspective of it).
