CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
I've bought a new China Made WebCam which looks much better than the previous one.
After testing, I feel like really good. But it forced me to capture 4x pics {2x(2x Barlow)}. Can't focus without barlow .
Bad thing is I can't adjust the exposure manually. So brightness changing all the times. Attached the test pictures. Have a look!
Dorsa Smirnov taken on yesterday. Others this evening(Recently).
I can't believe I've captured RIMA ARIADAEUS.

Boothee - about the difficulty in focussing without using 2x (2x barlows)... did you forget to remove the front lens of your new webcam? The lens in place may be altering the optical path such that you are forced to use those barlows to 'recorrect' the focussing plane. As for the aperture control, I have no idea... let's wait for the astrophotography experts here to dispense more advice.

Thanks for your kind reply Alvin. Yes I'm sure I took out the lens as I need to put my adaptor in front of webcam to attach to my telescope.

If your webcam cannot reach focus, then you will either have to remove in-between elements (filters, diagonals) to make the cam as near as you can to the scope... or you may have to move the primary mirror (which I think will be quite a tedious task).
I am wondering if there are other ways to overcome this problem... I am facing a similar problem with my Vitacon SwingView birding scope.
