Photo of Sun rising thru building

Yesterday morning (Thurs 22 Feb 2007), I spotted the sun's disc rising through the top pyramidal structure of Millenium Tower, which is at the Suntec City area.

I quickly took out my camera and snapped a series of photos. Here is one of them. I think this is the most unusual sunrise photo I have taken!

Part of the disc of the Sun can be seen thru the building, whilst part of it is above the building. I think the symmetry of the disc on the pyramid is quite amazing, just a chance alignment from my view point on that day itself (it had moved away this morning, Friday).

Details:
1/800 sec, f14, ISO 400
70mm focal length on a DSLR (112mm on 35mm equiv)

Great shot, Rich! The sharp straight criss-crossing lines of the bridge contrast very well with the circular disc of the Sun. The contrast in colours too adds to the overall effect.

Thanks Gavin/Boothee...it was taken on a moving bus. We were on the bridge and the sun was setting right in front of me, so I snapped it at that instant. I have several ones taken moments later where the sun dimmed until you could barely see it.
